Recycled Wedding Horseshoes from The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company
Recycled Wedding Horseshoes – We are very pleased to announce that we are now using 100% recycled ribbons on our lovely handmade wedding horseshoes!
We make all our horseshoes here in the Confetti Office
Most importantly, we wrap our lucky horseshoes with beautiful double sided Berisford satin ribbon. But this ribbon is now made of 100% recycled polyester yarn! To clarify, it is made of used PET plastic bottles. Certainly, Berisford’s have done a great job ensuring there is no reduction in the quality of the ribbon. It looks just as lovely as virgin plastic ribbon.
Recycling plastic drinks bottles
Used plastic bottles are collected in recycling points on mainland Europe. The bottles are cleaned and broken down into small plastic flakes. After that, they are melted into a liquid and converted into filaments. Finally, these filaments are combined and spun together to create the ribbon yarn.
60 metres of our 15mm ribbon recycles 7 plastic bottles – that’s great!
And, in addition, the reel the ribbon comes on is recycled and recyclable too.
We think it is important to take these little steps to help your wedding have less of an impact on our beautiful planet. Above all, we think it’s wonderful to make something so lovely out of old plastic drinks bottles.
