It’s already been a month since the Confetti Flower Field closed to the public so that we could gather our petal harvest. Can you believe it?
Most importantly, the harvest is now complete. Furthermore, the petals are all dried and safely sorted and stored. They are all ready for this coming year of weddings. Therefore, you’ll be able to buy this year’s harvest online very soon! Find our Confetti Shop HERE. So, now the flowers are all over, and we have cut them down to decompose back into the soil. It’s such a small window of time that the flowers are in full bloom – such a fleeting opportunity to enjoy their beauty! We hope you managed to catch this year’s magnificent show?!
Sadly, this summer the weather was not very kind to us all. Certainly, we had a little bit of everything – except snow! On some days we experienced wind, rain, and sunshine within the same hour 😊 Clothing choices were rather challenging for staff and visitors alike. Thank you all for your patience and resilience. Very few of you were put off by the weather, and the photos prove that it was worth it!
Poppies!
The stars of the show this summer were the POPPIES! The wildflower areas simply sang with colour. And of course, they are loved by the bees and butterflies too.
This is little Poppy meeting her namesakes!
Petals in the press
We made the national news on a couple of occasions – early aerial photos of the field showed the effects of the winter rains and waterlogged ground. However, these photos were taken before the flowers were in full bloom. We certainly thought that the display was spectacular this year: The rains gave the flowers extra height and strength. Every field is always different.
And our “Most Loyal Customers” (their title is now official!) were featured in the Daily Express. Joanne has been taking photos of her children Carla and Kian every year since we first opened to the public in 2015. Their 10 years of photos were showcased in the national paper. And they have inspired many others to do the same – it’s a fabulous way to document your little ones’ growth!
10 Years of Flowery Fun!
So, yes, this was our 10th year of opening up to the public so that you can all enjoy the flowers. People have travelled far and wide to see our confetti flowers. We are always thrilled and flattered by the journey some people make to see our blooms. You’ve come as far and wide as Thailand and New Zealand, specifically to see the delphiniums. What’s more, we’ve even had day-trippers from Norway!
Without your interest and support the event wouldn’t be such fun. Thank you very much!
Here’s to 10 years more…
